Default 73-74 Firebird AM radio

Looking for a 73-74 AM or possibly AM/FM radio for my 74 Formula.
Non working OK as long as it looks good.
Thanks in advance!

I believe to have what you want, taken from a 74 Trans-Am...with most, if not many of all the and wires/bracket/nuts.
A 1974 AM radio taken from a Trans-Am a long time ago.
Take a look at the pics and let me know.
p.markey4510@comcast.net.
Let me know either way, thanks.
Paul

Paul,
Thanks for the offer!
The radio I am looking for has the DELCO script above the 14-16 on the dial. I think the one you have is is a 70-72.
I will keep it in mind!

...
that most certainly IS NOT a 1970-1977 Firebird AM radio.

@ sp4spd:
The block versus script writing appears to have changed in 1976...

That radio which Paul offered is completely wrong for a Firebird - it wouldn't even be able to be installed and function properly - at least not with out some "McGuyver-ism"...

Just be aware, to the best of my knowledge there are at least two different configurations of AM radios;
1) AM single speaker
2) AM dual speaker

I believe that all 8-track cars (even though they all had a rear speaker, used the single speaker radio - in this case the 8-track player served to balance out the audio between the front and rear speakers;
If my memory serves me correct, the right had inner knob (large OD knob behind the front tuner knob) is what was used for front/rear balance for the dual speaker radios - so the single speaker radios can be identified by having a "fake" rear right knob (it just spins) - and with the knobs removed, you can see there is no second function on the right side of the radio face.

I had to go through all this when figuring out first hand what works, and what doesn't...

Good luck!!

BTW, my brother has his 1973 Formula's original AM radio - I will mention this thread to him.

link #2 is a beautiful one!
i has great pictures, sufficient information so that the buyer should be in for no surprises;
I believe that it's a single speaker radio - as the rear plug appears to only have one speaker output... but it's been a LONG time since I was going over these radios and their variants...
If I recall correctly my brother's '73 had a four prong plug to connect the radio to the 8-track player - and only one of those lines was a speaker input...
Again, I am going by memory.

That first link, although now sold, appears sketchy - zero description, and one poor/fuzzy picture.
It looks to be a Firebird radio - but the Tempests(?) & GTO's had radios that looked near identical...

option #3 - since I just looked a bit;
it is a 1976 unit, so the script is wrong, but it is $150 less than the purported 1974 radio;

yup...
that is an early unit - appears to be a non-steroe unit, but other than the fun red dot, practically speaking with the crummy quality sound (compared to todays stereos/speakers), I would thing that the premium for a true stereo deck is overinflated...

Default 74 am radio

I have one still installed in my all original 73xxx mile 74 Esprit. Worked last time I turned it on looks very nice. Also have the matching 8 track with harness if needed. Might be willing to part with. Not the best pics taken just now, 10:15 pm, in the garage so not the best lighting.

Beware of Joparts on ebay bought some "NOS" rear window trim from him that turned out to be aftermarket crap, when I told him he never replied then blocked me.

I finally grabbed one off of Ebay....wasn't the best shape on the inside and the packaging sucked!
I started cleaning it up and should turn out pretty decent when I'm done.
Thanks for information and leads from everyone!
