Decided to put a 3x2 on my Firebird. So i coated the carb bodies gold, the bases black, all the linkages gold or chrome. Then the intake, valley cover, stat housing, timing cover and water pump, valve covers in a powder blue. Also the steering bracket. All was then clearcoated.

With the coating how did you make out with parts working together? I am assuming you used powder so doesn't it build up making the tolerances change?

Looks like fun.

Everything worked fine. I had a timing issue unrelated to the powder that took some work to straighten out. The HEI wouldn't fit and the vacuum advance on the old points type distributor was frozen.

I would have liked to see the heads done and then see how the center ports held up.

Regular powder wouldn't hold up. Now ceramics, that's would probably work. Only thing is I can't find the actual Pontiac colors in either. The light blue is an RAL color
