Saw him in July of 1981, at Alberta Jam 1 in Calgary. Great show. Just a real great guy connecting to the crowd, having a great time and sharing it with the people. I loved his Geico commercial.

A titan of the industry. A great composer, writer and entertainer. Always willing to give you the time of day. Respect for him transcended genres.
The Devil best look out now! May he find peace in eternal rest.

What a showman. Saw him at the C. W. Post Dome on Feb 5, 1975, just as Southern Rock was becoming popular on Long Island through airplay on WLIR, WBAB and WNEW. He opened for Joe Walsh. As good as Joe was, the crowd hollered through his whole set, "bring back Charlie Daniels!"
The CDB made quite an impression. Same dome collapsed almost 3 years later. https://www.newsday.com/lifestyle/th...-dome-1.620218 |

RIP Charlie. You will be missed by many.
I just caught it on MSN a couple of minutes ago. I used to email back and forth with him back in the early 2000s. A very nice man that had one hell of a great career, and was one of the best entertainers throughout the years. I'd wondered why I hadn't seen him in the last few years and never realize he was that old.

My wife and I saw him along with some other country legends just last year for the very first time. Neither of us are country music fans but Charlie Daniels just stole the show. He was fantastic and so full of life and really seemed to enjoy the crowd and the evening. We both loved the show and he did show his skills on multiple instruments. Very sad. RIP

Neverseen CDB. Had an album, did listen to CD talk. Enjoyed CD music, and would have enjoyed meeting CD.

Saw him perform at either a Promise Keepers event, OR a Billy Graham event. Both were around 2001.
Tells me a lot about the man personally!!!! There's nothing sad about death, if the spirit of Jesus is in you!!! John 14:6
