Got the decals on the wagon. Changed the block letters to the outline letters to match the car. Added the trunk decal too just for fun.

After cleaning out under yet another workbench, the collection of tools to give to the grandsons is growing.

My shed is coming along. Got the roof on it today and it's looking pretty good for a 10 X 12.

Been working away re-detailing my engine compartment.
Car was in the body shop for two years for a month's worth of work and despite all my protests, they refused to keep the under-hood clean. I'd go in and discuss and get nowhere. Discussions turned to arguments which finally degenerated into a screaming match in which I finally just gave up, told the owner to continue f'ing my car up and we can settle it all through the insurance company on delivery day. I brought the insurance claims "adjudicator" along on one visit who basically shrugged and said "What are you gonna' do? When it's done", take it to someone to clean it all back up and we will deduct it from the insurance payout to the shop." Sounds good in theory, but what shop is going to putz around under the hood detail painting? I'll take part of the blame for not pulling the car out of the shop after the delivery dates began sliding away. When I went to pick up the car, I brought the insurance guy along and told the body shop the only way I would accept the car would be if he restored the underhood components back to their original condition or provide me with a notarized promissory note to pay another shop to refinish everything with a not to exceed amount of $5,000. We settled on my not paying for any of the non-covered extra work (radiator core support bushing reinforcement, hood pin installation, cutting out the hood scoops, fabricating the custom scoop inserts, stripping and repainting the cowl, endura nose, fender extensions and front valance and installing the stripe kit). I have literally replaced every nut, bolt, washer and screw under the hood with stainless, rplaced the fuel and trans cooler lines, repainted the fender wells, firewall, engine top end and brackets, bead blasted the intake and alternator case, golden cad painted the booster and master cylinder hardware and added a new carburetor. None of this is fun when it's caused by the carelessness of others and it's hard work for an old man, leaning over the fenders in my condo's one car garage in 85-90F heat! Problem is, nobody else will do this kind of work. Before the body shop episode: After delivery ... intake already removed: Almost done:

I'm amazed at how many different things I "just never gotten around to" that have kept me occupied throughout this pandemic. And I'm still finding more of them! And surprisingly, I've spent very little time motorcycling or cruising in the Pontiac-powered GMC, although the 1917 Buick has been out almost every day for nearby errands.

Extra Time Project
Always liked the nostalgic Service Station items. Real ones are outside my budget like the old Air Meters, so I used my wood working hobby to build this one. It doesn't really operate or function just coil and store the air hose. Decorates the garage up a little bit.
