Default Factory Two Tone Paint

I have a 1969 Firebird with factory two tone paint. Verdoro green over Limelight green. The car was repainted a champagne color back in the 70s and the two tone paint trim was lost. Before buying this car I did not even know two tone paint cars existed. So I am now on the hunt for the trim and any information or pictures I can find on this rare option.

Thanks

Trim should just be the vinyl roof trim....

Did you get the PHS on it? What does the firewall trim tag say?

Troy, it was a Canadian car and I did get the documentation on the car. It is listed as a D99 "Special Two Tone Paint, Molding". The trim tag shows 59/73 Limelight and Verdoro. My understanding is the molding was different from the vinyl top molding since is does not need the extra space for the vinyl top material. I guess the top edge of the molding could look like the bottom of the vinyl top molding. Something like a mirror image top to bottom. When stripping the car I can see evidence of both paint colors.

Although I am always open to learning new things..... I have never seen any roof molding designated just for Two Tone cars......

When I painted my car which was a vinyl roof car and decided to go to a the Two Tone look..... the vinyl roof trim seems to work just fine, never even gave it a second thought.....

Correct. There was not a vinyl-specific design of roof molding used. Same with the drip rail moldings.

Thanks guys for the help. I will go check out the vinyl top molding and see how it looks. I really only have experience with other cars and their vinyl top moldings did have space for the vinyl to fit. So I just assumed it was the same for the Firebird. Now the other question. Is there a market for a two tone car or should I leave it Limelight green everywhere to make it more marketable. I will be selling at sometime.

If its a numbers matching car and you plan on bringing everything else back to the way it was born..... then go all the way and make it match the PHS.....
