Default "Not Secure" ??

The main page here is secure but every time i click on a thread, it goes to "not secure".
When i open these pages on my work computer i do not see the "not secure" in the address bar.
I've installed new virus protection on my home computer. I get constant popups on this page that i've been "protected" from another attack.
My ebay, bank and paypal have all been accessed somehow, but no charges have been made to me but i've had to change passwords several times.

My forum same, go daddy want around $100 to mak e it secure. I don’t think so
It’s for sites that have credit card or bank info on , things like that.
It’s like at the car wash, they want more to clean your wheels. Lol

I noticed the 'not secure' started appearing a few months ago. For those who haven't seen it or haven't noticed it, look at the URL at the top of your screen - it will say

Not Secure - http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=843025

I've also noticed it on one or two other forums. It doesn't seem to affect personal security.

There is no valid SSL certificate on this forum. That is why there's a security error. If it started a few months ago, that's when the cert expired

I keep up three car club websites and haven't caved into paying the protection money so they will remove the "Not Secure" when the sites come up. Nothing has changed with the sites, but Google and others have found yet another way to extort money. It was a few months ago that Chrome, Edge, and others added the warning. I hear it might get worse with browsers refusing to open the websites unless the website has purchased an SSL certificate.

Also, there are at least three levels of "security", and the base level is simply a quick check to see if the site is owned by the proper people -- and there really is no extra protection for the user. Guess not having the warning pop up might give some a little more cozy feeling.

As said above, unless you are typing in your credit card information into Performance Years, you are safe. And if you are typing in secure information into a post we all can see it anyway.

I maintain several sites too and my host (IcdSoft.com) offers free SSL Certificate (Let's Encrypt).

Did you click on his link - http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=843025

His is an unsecured link because it doesn't have the 's' after http.
You are using the 'secured' link. Technically everything should be https if they have a certificate. But it's hard to transfer every link over to a secure file. Probably not worth it unless you are handling credit cards, etc.

BTW, that link of quick silver shows as a partially secure site. The images aren't secure. They are probably using a work around to show the links as https or http. (not separate web pages)
