How to get door on Formula open
The door on my 1974 Formula will not unlock. If I try to open it from the outside door handle it will not unlatch. If I try from the inside it will not open. What are my options?

When you pull the door knob up you don’t hear a click. I think one of the clips
Came off and the rod is hanging. The key will not unlock the door. Wondering if the fender has to be removed and the hinges unscrewed. Any thoughts on a fix? |

Is there no way to reach where the rod attaches through the top with the window down? I can't remember the exact arrangement...

You can unlock the door simply by taking a length of wire coat hanger, or some like stiff wire, fashioning an L shaped hook on the end of it, and operating the locking arm on the latch assembly at the rear of the door with the hook, you'll most likely need a flashlight to see what your working on inside the door.
After you pull the arm up most likely the linkage has become unhooked from the latch assembly, and will require removing the door panel to re-attach it. |

Fixed the door, the lock was stuck in the half way position. I tried may times to open with wire. When the lock was pushed into the full lock I was able to use wire to hook the latch.
