That is quite a concentration of eagles. I would have expected that in Alaska! See them on a regular basis here in Raleigh, NC by the 2 major lakes (Falls and Jordan).

There's a pretty large population of bald eagles along the Mississippi, from Minneapolis down to La Crosse, WI and beyond. The picture above was taken near a power plant where the water stays ice-free during the winter, so it's a good place for them to feed on fish.

The Conowingo Dam is about a half an hour down the road from here. There every winter, same deal , power producer.

I can confirm that the eagle population in SE MN is doing very well. The National Eagle Center is located in Wabasha, MN (of Grumpy Old Men fame).

I used to manage the cellular system in the 4 counties across the Mississippi in Wisconsin and traveled extensively along the Mississippi River bluffs in Pierce, Pepin and Buffalo Counties. I remember driving on a winding twisty road at the top of the bluffs and having a bald eagle flying hundreds of feet in the air - but he was just outside my passenger window...

We used to run the Kids Club for our local dirt track. We had the National Eagle Center bring a live bald eagle and do an program for the kids pre race a few times.

Eagles are fun to photograph!

That is an impressive picture!

I live near St. Louis, MO. I've been up to Clarksville Dam a few times to watch the eagles.

Its about 5 minutes down the road from me. Def a large pop. of eagles as well. Every once in awhile whilst crossing one will fly beside your vehicle, that is pretty cool.

I live on the coast of SC we have a large dump site that is home to about 20 eagles. We have a canal on our hunting lease and most any time you will see a eagle gliding along then five down and grab a fish.. Love to hear that screech.

We have a lot of Bald eagles in northern CO as well. I actually had seen a couple golden eagles lock talons in a local field the other day. I guess that is some mating thing but man locking talons and plummeting to the ground just dont seem right.

I remember when I was a kid, the media said that the bald eagle population was down to 54 birds. That first picture looks to have 54 birds, very nice recovery in about 50-60 years.

Since we moved into out new home out in the farmland of Ohio, I have seen one bald eagle flying north of the house. It's nice to see them in the wilds, instead of in a zoo, or in a documentary.

The Columbus zoo has one, but I always think it would be so much nicer to let him fly free, than be in a large enclosure, with people filing by looking at him. I'm not a big fan of zoos that keep wild animals in captivity. I may be in the minority, but I'd much rather see a wild animal in their natural environment, than cooped up in a zoo.

That is an impressive pic!

A couple years ago I saw three eagles in a valley up here.... they were riding the thermals circling, all three in unison like in a circular line, round and round, obviously hunting the valley floor. In the past had often seen one doing that, then once two, but never three in unison. Was a special moment in my life.
