I saw that last night on tv I like it when the battery takes the direct hit and still starts the car.

It's a very elaborate, and likely expensive, commercial just to sell batteries, especially when they're apparently selling through only one channel, Advance Auto.

I bought a Diehard "incredicell" battery in 1987 - it started my 1977 Cutlass Supreme at 30 below zero in Potsdam, NY that winter.

I think advanced auto is just slapping the brand on existing batteries.

The the Diehard I had when I was in Champlain, NY that same year started my car too. But it was from Sears. Who knows where that battery Advance calls a Diehard came from. I agree they're probably just slapping the name on some piece of crap. Sears sure isn't selling them any more. But it wasn't as cold as the year I saw -40F up there in the North Country of NY and Quebec..... '84 or '85.

Don't forget that Sears bought them from somewhere else and slapped their name on them as well...

The fact that they are no longer associated with Sears is probably a good thing. Remember the lawsuit over them selling old batteries in new Diehard cases? 20 years or so ago?
