Default Pontiac Valley Pans: any value?

Again I have moved to a new house and trying to streamline the parts pile. I have 4 very nice and cleaned valley pans from 65 and newer style Pontiac engines. I have had them, long before these started being reproduced. They were acid dipped and primed if I recall correctly.

Is there any value to them, or just put them in the scrap gondola?

Thanks in advance for any comments....

I'm sure someone can use them. Original valley pan fit right.

As you know the big issue with them is getting them super clean inside and out, especially inside. If they were hot tanked first then acid soaked to remove the rust, they could be fine inside. Most people would want to cut out the spot welds, clean them out 100% and weld them back together. Before reproductions, that's what we did to insure they were 100% clean. Some people really prefer OE parts rather than some of the marginal reproductions, so IMO, they have some value. I would say $30-40 each would be a typical price for what you have. If I wanted to use one, I would look all over inside with one of the little cameras available before I cut it apart. It could be fine. Just hate to see OE parts thrown away.

70 is the best one, it is the one the Tomahawk pan was made from. Clears roller lifters.

I would not trust any old pan that has not been taken apart and really cleaned.Just not worth it IMO.Tom

Don't throw them out. I recently bought a used one and a quick look with a bore camera is a good idea.

Its not hard to grind the welds off, separate, clean and tack weld back together. That is what I did with my 70 pan, solid roller lifters.
You can buy one of those little hole punch drill bits for a cleaner look removing the tack welds, but its on the inside of the engine anyway.
