Default New engine combo with 3.08 gearing

I'm following the advice of a few other members and starting a new thread on my adventures with 3.08 gearing. I'm heading to the track Friday and Saturday to test the new engine. New shortblock is a 466,hardblocked to the bottom of the waterpump, crower billet steel rods, CP pistons(420g),total seal rings,Chyro'd crank, balanced assembly, o ringed, new Romac SFI balancer, new ATI SFI flexplate, canton 400 oil pan with an oil temp sender. Heads have been upgraded to SD Performance "CNC 305" package, also new comp dual springs, retainers, keepers. The heads have been milled to 79cc to set engine compression at 10.75 to 1.The OF cam has been swapped for SD's OF 2.0.The torker 2 intake has also been touched up also to match the heads.Running the same 950 hp Holley,1 3/4 inch Hooker Super Comps.Rearend has been upgraded to a Eaton Posi and Dutchman 30 spline axles but retain the factory GM ring and pinion.

Dave Bisschop figures the new engine should make between 30 and 50 more hp.The shortblock is an added bonus and may contribute some "extra" horsepower over the old shortblock due to better ring sealing and a much lighter rotating assembly.

I'm just wanting to see a sub 11 second pass first pass.The first goal I have is a sub 7 second 1/8th and a 100mph plus 1/8th.

If it's a 30 hp gain, you'll run 10.70s. If it's a 50 hp gain, you could dip into the 10.50s.
We'll see.

Fought some traction issues on a few runs but final run of the night netted 10.77 and 126mph plus.
