Production for the 1965 model year started on 8/24/1964 (in Pontiac Michigan, I assume).

Information on the 1965 build year.

My Mayfair Maize ‘65 was built 1st quarter of the model year.
I’m also certain my car may have been impacted by the 30 day GM strike.

Cool production date list. Is there also a list of when dealers could display the new models? I remember dealer's masking their windows before the new cars could be seen - but maybe more of an advertising ploy that a requirement?

Thank you; I made that from the Gunnells book.

Yes - dealers could not display or sell before a specific date. The intent was to give all the dealers an even playing field and a common start.

For the '65 model year that date was 9/21/64.
