Reverse lockout/neutral switch rod adjustment
So I did a John force burnout in my 81 TA... and I immediately only had drive in the car. I knew the shifter cable fell off or something. So I popped it back on and still cannot get the key out of the column which does not lock. There was a thread on here that explained perfectly how to adjust the lockout rod. I cannot find it for the life of me. I found it 6 months ago after I blew up the tranny and the linkage was not connected then but I found that thread and it was perfect. Anybody have a good description on how to do this? IIRC it was put car in park, release column, adjust etc. Thank you!!

rotate the round housing on steering column.....right below key switch bowl...counter clockwise as far as you can...That should allow you to get your key out...

There is a rod that slides in the linkage -goes up to the part of the column on the firewall side. Loosen the bolt by the trans slide the column lever all the way up, shove the rod all the way up and tighten it while in Park.
