Default Rocket City Dragway Huntsville AL

Ah so Huntsville Dragway closed. Yet now reopen!!! As Rocket City dragway.

https://dragillustrated.com/rocket-c...ther-programs/

So today, in Bible study i was talking to a fella ( we got to talking about Bible stuff last time), and this time the conversation started about a fella in need, led to "I know a paint shop that needs such a fella", shop had racecars on the phone homepage, "oh yea we sponsor a racecar..", but the track closed. " oh yea I own the Track, we opened but now it's called Rocket City Dragway". Says he's Got David Sharp running the Track operations and the 2024 season is booked and they sighedwith NHRA (i dunno if it is booked up)

Says they are looking for a control tower operator, i guess that is the announcer.

So Turner goes on to describe the plans to expand the track beyond the drag racing; Country music gigs, Truck racing on a different set of acres. And he is into Chevys.

Well i told him i sold the GTO, and spare 455, and am in-between Pontiacs right now, so maybe i might put a big motor in a Towncar.

Glad to hear some positive news concerning an old dragstrip. For the last 20 years most of the news has been that another strip was about to close. The cost of land needed to build a new track is prohibitive and zoning makes it doubly difficult. Sounds like Rocket City dragway has a good chance to make a go of it. Maybe the multi venue idea is the way to go.
