Last nite I was finally far enough on my resto to start and breakin my 406 Poncho. No leaks, fired right up and ran like a champ! 15 minutes of 2500 rpm and 5 minutes running it between 2500 and 4500 rpm. The biggest problem was no seat in bugger lol. Thing sounds wicked. The Rhoads didn't seam to make much difference in noise with 292h cam, the filled heads made the headers with X exhaust system sound different. Now I can't wait for final tune and drive it next spring! 2 years into the resto....long wait will be worth it.

Sweet, always good when you have no problems during the breakin. Good luck.

Nothing better than knowing you did the job right. I finally got my 55 running with my 66 389 running last night too. I never thought I would hear it running this year after spending time building my engine mounts and fabricating everything else.

If you are like me, you always have that sick feeling in your stomach just HOPING everything is fine when you fire it up. And then when it does work right, you grin like an idiot that just won the lottery!

Congrats on your success!!

GS...WAY NICE LEMANS! You must be roadracer at heart by the cars you have. It's '68 GTO vedora grn/blk top 4spd, numbers match and I have all the original paper work from the old fart who ordered her new. I see were neightbors I'm in Anoka. The car has eibach sport springs, Orig ram setup for 68 thats channeled down to except an rpm intake. Cliff will be doing a 850 qjet in Jan. and many other little +'s done. I'm sure will get alook at each others cars some Sat. in Anoka. Here is pic a month ago

Thanks for the compliment, Guy. (Sorry for the slow reply, I've been away from the forum for a few days.) Yup, my goal is to get the LeMans on the BIR road course after I get all the bugs worked out. I've had the Vette up there for a few track days (just for fun, not to compete) and it is a ton of fun.

Looking forward to seeing your car, sounds like a great project. Hopefully we can hook up in the spring. Good luck!!
