Default Cometic gaskets

Have a question about Cometic head gaskets on my Engine . I’ve been doing a little reading and supposedly these gaskets can be re-used. I’m into an investigative tear down currently . Has anyone re-used a set of these without issues /concerns .

They are reusable. I put mine on in ‘08, but haven’t had the heads off since to verify that for myself.
Remember, You have to make sure heads have the correct RA on the surface to use them though.

We reuse them all the time. Procedure used to be install "as is" then Copper Coat with second use then retire.... Since their price increases we'll run them for a third time if they look good.

I have even reused even the Fel Pro 1016 gaskets with just a film of sealer around the water passages.

I have reused my Cometics without issue and I have reused Felpro 1016 without issue.

I was fighting an old set of Wenzler heads that someone got too aggressive grinding in the pushrod bulge.. had them off several times, reused the gaskets 2 or 3 X’s . Gave them a quick dusting of copper spray, no issues.

Thanks for the reply’s . Engine builder wanted to get at it . So this morn some disassembly. He wants me to order a new set . Currently 4.175 , wants me to go 005 larger. Told him why didn’t he spec out 4:180 when this went together in 2018?. We will have a discussion tomorrow on this. If need be then guess a deal will need to made.
