I remember this car and story from 20 or so years ago. If I remember correctly, it is the real deal.

Remember it also. Was on Craigslist somewhere in Canada about 2 years ago.
Thinking they wanted high $60's. Remember the air force blue story.
Was advertised as real.

I believe it's a real one. That's a lot of money for a non-matching TA that needs so much work.

Always wondered what happened to that car. Was on Seattle craigslist a few years back.. Seller was asking $75,000 at the time. Probably overpriced at the time as it was on the market a couple years. Looks like current owner did some work to make it driver.

I think this car was at either T/A Nats or POCI. I remember seeing this car in person somewhere.

It moved around several small towns in Eastern Washington for a few years. I thought someone checked it out and verified it was a legit 69 TA.

Car could've been striking *IF* it had been done right. A true "what if". Lucerne blue, correctly proportioned white stripes, decals using the correct small fonts in the correct positions. No DIY billboard stripes down the sides. Only deviation? Don't invert that tailpanel (blue was a nod to the popular blackout treatment).

I'd be curious to see a clone done this way, but a real 69 TA shouldn't be ambiguous

ive owned two 69 ta's that were color changed. one was exactly color reversed and looked fantastic. should have built them that way as a choice. the other was similar to atoll blue, it didnt look bad but i liked the other blue much better.

Just curious, was it "Tyrol" blue/white?

Air Force blue was darker
so there must have been some creative decisions made.

Looks like the current owner fixed the back window.

it was the lighter shade of the 69 ta blue. as to why i say this, i cant tell you how many 69 trans ams i have owned and the majority with original paint. while most had the lighter shade of the blue i have had a few that had a shade a little closer to lucerne blue. no idea why, but definately different.

That car looks tacky. They should have done a true reverse using '67 tyrol blue with the correct stripes and decals.
