Indeed. I hope your 455 shakes more than the LS does!

As Phil also shows, nothing like that view.

The weather cleared up and I went for a spin this afternoon too. That's Mount Diablo way off in the distance.

Verdoro, I rode a horse around Mt. Diablo! I was visiting my aunt, she lived in Walnut Creek, and was a school teacher in Concord.

Right on, that’s my ‘hood. It’s gorgeous up on Mt. Diablo. We’ve gone to a few astronomy nights at the peak, you get a really great view of the Bay Area when the fog isn’t there.

The pic I took is on 242 headed South in Concord which would get you to Walnut Creek in about 5 minutes.

Had the '73 out a couple of weeks ago. The view over the shaker makes grocery-getting a lot more fun.

A few shots from past excursions:

The fullsize pic is hosted on Amazon, so feel free to grab it.

Here's a few others from around the Bay Area over the last few years. I think of the Highway 1 pic as my equivalent to the famous Woodward Ave ad. I took the pic at the Golden Gate Bridge about 20 years ago. I'm well overdue for new pic there. Another cool picture spot is Goat Rock Beach up in Sonoma. I haven't taken the car there yet.

It would be cool to see any other pics folks have taken of landmarks and their cars.

Default My Contribution 1972 Trans Am (almost done w/ frame off resto) & 1972 GTO

I am almost done with a frame off restoration on my 1972 Trans Am (some minor interior items, connect the A/C and some fine tuning details). I did everything on this car myself except the final paint.

One of my other cars is a 1972 GTO that I restored back in 2003. I have owned this particular car since 1976.

I will say, this site has been invaluable. I could not have come this far without all the expert advice/knowledge that I gleaned from you guys - Thank You!

I always liked this pic from the Highway 1 coastline. IIRC, I took this around sunset with the fog rolling over the hills on the left of the pic. It was chilly. Drove back over the hills and it was warm. If you visit the Bay Area, dress in layers

Love all of the nature shots. Verdoro, when we visited my aunt it was winter but unseasonably warm. There was very little fog to speak of and we had some beautiful views of the Golden Gate. My uncle remarked at how clear things were and we were there at the right time.
Speaking of layers, another trip to So Cal, we started in Hemet, drove up over a mountain heading to Victorville. It was raining and a chill when we left, at the crest of the mountain snowing to beat the band, hot and sunny in the desert! All in a couple of hours span.

I love getting out just around sunup and take a run to the beach.
Roads are nice when all the phuc-tards are still sleeping

According to my photos, it's been 3 years for me. Can't believe it's been that long. Used to hike/backpack all of the time before my knees went south, litterally.

Think the lat time I drove Highway 1 was 30 years ago on our honeymoon to Pismo...in the Firebird.
