The Injun Wars Race Series will be one tool we use to help compile The Pontiac List.

Our first race will be at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, IN (Indy) June 16th & 17th, 2018.

This track is famous for hosting the NHRA U.S. Nationals and will fit perfectly into a pre-Norwalk Pontiac Nationals test session.

The race will be open to Classic and Modern Pontiac door cars, Funny Cars, Altereds and Dragsters. The engine determines the Class and as the field grows, so will the Classes.

A Classic Pontiac is defined as a Pontiac car with a Traditional Pontiac engine. If any other make car or truck wants to participate, it must have a Traditional Pontiac engine and would be in this Class.

A Modern Pontiac is defined as a Pontiac car with an engine produced by Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, etc. This Class would include Classic Pontiac bodied cars with other than Traditional Pontiac engines. For example, Arnie Beswick's '64 GTO.

Funny Cars, Altereds and Dragsters are defined as any chassis/body with a Traditional Pontiac engine only.

We will be running in a separate race but along with their bracket racing program. The track requested that only experienced drivers participate so if you're not currently racing, this first race probably isn't for you.

Initial plans are for Saturday's & Sunday's time trials to be used as heads up races for those wanting to pair up. Additional heads up possibilities are available by pairing up in the first round of eliminations by simply using the same dial in on both cars. After the first round, all cars will dial in as it is a bracket race.

If there is enough interest, we can set up a strictly heads up class, and intend to as car count increases.

We are shooting for 50 cars to participate in this first race and we will then look toward renting the track and hosting a much bigger race soon afterward.

INJUN WARS UPDATE:
We are rapidly approaching the historic first INJUN WARS race at Lucas Oil Raceway in June and I could use your help!
Some have asked, "How many cars are in my Class?" or What are the payouts?".
Both good questions but I have no good answers because I'm not having any luck getting a car count!
It's tough to attract sponsors without a car count and it's tough to have a payout without sponsors.
I know once we start to get traction, this thing is going to take off, but I need all of you to help by sharing and getting the word out.
I've posted a poll here and 41 have seen it but only 16 have replied. Thank you to those that have and for those that have not, please do.
Even if you're only coming to spectate and help us develop a plan for the series, I really need to know who's coming and I really want and value your opinions.
We have hats, decals, pens, trophies and a bunch of exciting ideas we'd like to share.
We have a series sponsor, Arrow Injuneering, who is offering a 10% discount to all participants toward the purchase of their amazing ArrowHeads & ArrowIntakes.
We have plans to make this a multi track series where we will crown Pontiac World Champions at the Pontiac World Finals.
The plan is to keep entry fees reasonable and allow the companies that are selling you your parts to become sponsors and make your payouts.
You spent the money and built the car and you put on the show. You shouldn't have to pay a huge entry fee to get a great payout too. That's just gambling!

Here’s our subject to change for the better, plan for your INJUN WARS Pontiac Drag Racing Series.

Pontiac Racers, here’s how you can compete for a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in your Class.

Step 1 - Sign up and agree to display the INJUN WARS decals at all races. This brings awareness to the Series attracting more racers and more sponsors.

Step 2 - Race where you already race. Big Bucks Brackets, NMCA, PDRA, NHRA, IHRA, Heads Up or whatever. Earn the payout your track already offers. Earn 1 Point toward the CHAMPIONSHIP for every round win. Be prepared to present your timeslips.

Step 3 - When we get together for INJUN WARS 2019, all the points you have accumulated will be tallied and we will have various Classes racing for WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in 16 Car Fields. Field sizes may be adjusted based on participation.

The Racer with the most points in the Class will be the Number 1 Qualifier, the Racer with the 2nd most points will be the Number 2 Qualifier, on down to the Racer with the 16th most points being the 16th Qualifier.

Eliminations will be on a Sportsman ladder except for Heads Up Classes that will use a Pro ladder.

Once Eliminations begin, Points will be adjusted to the Number 1 Qualifier beginning with 16 Points, the Number 2 Qualifier beginning with 15 Points, all the way down to the 16th Qualifier beginning with 1 Point.

Racers can earn a possible 35 Points with 5 Points for each round win and a 15 Point Bonus to the winner and eventual WORLD CHAMPION of the Class.

All Points earned at INJUN WARS 2018 carry forward toward your Point total for INJUN WARS 2019. Get a jump start on the next season. With a possible 35 Points, it’s like winning 35 rounds at your local track.

With only 1 HUGE event, we can include a car show, car corral, swap meet, new parts vendors, etc., PLUS all the sponsor and spectator support will make for the kind of PAYOUTS you deserve.

Please plan on attending our first race, June 16th & 17th, 2018 at Lucas Oil Raceway (Indy) to join in the fun and help us create your Series.

We've had about a dozen "reply to the poll" and say they'll be there and at least another 15 others reply to posts saying they'll be there.

Either way, I think we're gong to have a decent turnout and it's the first of many to come. Come on out a spectate and help us plan for next year's Series.

We had a great time at INJUN WARS but now it's time to start thinking about next year.
We're hearing that a lot of Pontiac People had never even heard about the race series so that's one place where YOU can help us and yourself. More cars means more fun, more sponsors and that means PAYOUTS. We're not trying to create a BIG BUCKS RACE but we need to have enough of a payout to make it profitable for the winners if we're going to attract racers from a distance.
