I just read all of these articles from end to end!!!! Nothing like period road tests to know how these cars actually ran.

Yea I agree they are good stuff.
I started collecting them during my introduction to OHC 6's in the early eighties helped me with some of the detailing since little information was available and to some degree still somewhat limited.

I too like to see/read them especially the testers who did REAL road testing
not the Factory controlled fluffy crap.

Glad you enjoyed them, I still have a few stacks to go.

I would imagine the volume of write-ups goes off a cliff after 66?

I remember a car and driver article (not very complementary) about a 67 in France. Can't think of any 68-69 A-body tests but I imagine there might have been a few on the Fbirds?

Yes the write up’s do become a bit redundant beyond mid 1966,
However in ’67 Testing on the Firebirds begins so there's still something to look forward to.

The Feb C&D was a ’67 Lemans exported to Europe
and IIRC test driven by 2 of the C&D staff.
I have an interesting [at least I think so] tidbit to that write up.

Coming Soon

This has me thinking about digging out all my period old articles on 68-69 GTO's and posting them on a similar thread.

Not the greatest power train set up! 19.7 in the quarter and 14.8 mpg, should be the other way around!!!

On a positive note this article reminds me how pretty that 66 was, even the 4 door is gorgeous. Those rallye wheels make the car

Interesting to see such a positive review from a magazine known for panning cars.
