I just replace the 400 engine in my 69 GTO with a 455 from a 70 Bonneville. I only have the original carb off the 400. Somewheres along the line I remember the 455 carbs were 850 CFM vs. 800 CFM for 400's ....is that correct or was that only Buicks and Oldsmobiles?

Do I need a 455 carb? Can I re-jet the 400 carb? What are your suggesstions. Just looking for superior street drivability. It has a Nunzi street cam with 6X heads and 3:23 gears....

What is the number on the carb you have?

All 455 carbs (except the 1971 HO and RA; and the 1973, 1974 SD) through the 1974 year were the same size as the 400 carbs with slightly different calibrations.

I was unable to locate the info you mentioned, is it in the "Members Only" section? If so, I can't get to it (not being a member...)

Can you provide a direct link?

Thanks!
