Over the past few days I've replaced the passengers side parking lamp assembly for my 68 Catalina. The drivers side was replaced last year by the bodyshop after I had an unfortunate incident with a deer. I also cleaned and repainted the taillight housings with new gloss white paint, and upgraded the taillight bulbs from 1157 to 2357 for brighter brake lights, and the reverse lights were swapped from 1156 to 796 halogen bulbs. I've also replaced the quarter window weatherstripping, and I have new roof rail and door weatherstripping, but haven't had the time to replace those yet.

My neighbor got a few of us organized to go up to a cruise in about 50 miles north of here, at a supper club/ bar. Had a caravan of 6 going up. About 100 cars showed up. 97 degrees forecast today too. Gave me a chance to test my re-cored original radiator. Never went above 195 on the trip up, went to about 205 going up long hills on the trip back. Weather man was correct, it’s exactly 97 degrees, so I guess it passed the test.
Our group was the Chevelle down to the Galaxy 500.
I also included my pick of the cruise in. I have a soft spot for GTX’s. I especially honest ones like this. It was greasy cool.

Took the 77 out, filled it with fuel, and went to the industrial park to do some clutch kicks, donuts, and burnouts.

Getting pretty good at clutch kicking the thing and hanging the ass end out in a circle. Not the easiest thing to drift, but it's a fun challenge.

Went out for a drive to town and got soaked, not sure where the rain came from but it came in buckets while trying to get home.
Spent the rest of day cleaning the car. Not like i need to spend more time cleaning.

Finished hooking up the last of the brake lines- 100% new system now, upgraded to a dual MC ('64).

I have been driving the heck out of the 62 Catalina. Mostly less than 100 miles at a time. Been to several car shows. Couple of cruise ins, Cars and Coffee for the first time. Put just under 1400 miles on the fresh engine and reproduction bathtub intake. Goal is 2000 miles before the weather starts to go away here in Ohio. Next year, longer trips planned. Possibly Hot Rod Power Tour? Thanks to Tom S, John and 61-63 for all the help and incredible work that went into the bathtub intake, carburetors and linkage. Tremendous amount of work to get it all fit under the hood, but it makes the show and runs just great on the street.

Got this top piece welded in yesterday. Robbed it from a door jamb piece I forgot I had when I cut up a shell a couple years ago.Thought I had the pass side also, have to do the same to it.

Pulled the 62 out of the garage for a quick blast through the gears. Plan on hooking up the fuel and return lines to the 67 GTO today after replacing the gas tank a few weeks back.

Drove it up the road and back, which for me is a blast after 15 yrs of it not running. Parked it outside, ready for moving this week. I even honked the horn!

Yesterday, drove it, washed/cleaned it. I've had the idle a bit high so adjust that down a bit to 750-800. Driving again later this morning. I like the new KYB shocks.

Pulled off the front drivers side wheel on my 68 firebird 2 weeks ago to put a bigger spacer on the coil spring and change out organic brake pads to ceramic/metallic then got caught up in a kitchen remodel. Put the wheel back on Saturday without doing anything and spent the sunny weekend driving to a car show and around cape ann for fried clams.

Sometimes you can't get anything actually done.

Not today (still recovering from the exhausting trip), but last Friday I broke the lakester's Pontiac engine at the Loring event... again. I'd say BAD breakage, since both #1 and #2 pistons are at the top of their cylinders! I suspect #2 might be just half of a piston...

Installed the headliner and package tray after procrastinating long enough. Still need to steam out a few small wrinkles near the rear window and add coat hooks / sunvisors, mirror etc.
