Hi All,

To compliment the 3pp 'Judge convertible value' thread I thought it might be interesting to read fellow listers thoughts on another rare breed of Goat...

Value estiamtes on 69-70 RA IV Judge Hardtops.

What do you think they bring these days?

I was thinking matching numbers (at least block trans and rear), (not concourse but still) fully restored or in excellent original condition.

Feel free to add/subtract what you think would significantly add or detract from the value (e.g. 4spd vs auto, colors, other options, 69 vs 70, where sold (Barret Jackson vs eBay vs locally) etc)...

Looking forward to the groups thoughts on this!

There was a dealer in the Mid West that just sold a 1970 RA IV , 4 speed Judge hardtop with a red interior with an SR block for 100K. Four speed cars bring about $5,000 more than an auto.I feel that excellent to concourse RA IV Judges with paper work like build sheet, original window sticker, etc, numbers matching and solid original bodies are going to bring low six figures and more in the near future. Colors make a difference but it seems to mean less when dealing with top dog high horse power engined cars like RA IV's. These cars are finally getting the recoginition they deserve and with the low production numbers the prices are going to keep rising.

RAIVJUDGE:
For what its worth I completely agree with you (on all counts!). One minor point I may have a bit differnt slant on is colr , especially for teh 69 cars. I would think ALL 1969 non carousel red RA IV Judges are EXTREMELY rare, if as most say, 80-90% of all '69 judges were orange. Using this 80-90% estimate, then only about 30-40 NON-carousel RA IV Judges were ever made in 1969! With 15 colors avaialble that year we are probably looking at only a COUPLE of non-Carousel RA IV Judges built for each of the remaining colors (Some colors maybe NO RA IV Judges were made?!)

Still ALL 69-70 RA IV Judges are rare as hell and worth big bucks no question, especially those that are finished with their original drivetrain in tact.

Interesting.

What about Ram Air III Judges, same criteria, original drivetrain, 4-speed, fully restored?

What makes it 1 of 68? They made a lot more automatics than that.

Ok how many 70 ram air 4 hardtop GTO's did they produce? I was told the production number was 68, most were 4 speed cars.

This info. came from PHS. There were 140 auto ram air 4 cars produced in 70. 72 were judges and 68 were regular GTO's

I constantly am suprised at the prices of RAIV cars. I have had a RAIV polor white judge auto for a while now and I am damn glad that I bought it a while ago not lately. Although I own one I have no idea because of all of the variables on what each car would be worth. I think these cars are individual enough that they are a one time affair, the condition of the car and the depth of the pockets of the buyer are the keys.

Just seen a 1969 RA IV Exspresso Brown Judge HT at a local Saturdatnight cruise in. I wrote down some of the numbers and checked a few thing, everything seems dead nuts on. However could not find anything about build numbers ie, how many? for an exact number built.
Oh yes this was a 4 speed car as well. Man it wasn't what I call a 100 point restoration but it was sweet. I could not pull myself away from this Judge. Any help with some prodution numbers would be greatly appreciated.
Sadly this little gem will be heading further south within the year.
Cheers

I'm looking at buying a 69 RA IV Judge. There are not a lot of them out there and theres even less that need a resto and thats what I'm looking for. There are two for sale that I know of, a white 69 in Ill that was a orange car and one in MI. They both need motors and minor floor and body work. Does anyone know any info on the white one in Ill and what they think its worth. The car was on ebay about three months ago and did not sell. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chuck

I know the guy with the white 69 he lives 7 miles from me. He buys and sells GTO's occasionally, I have not seen the car personally but if you really need an honest opinion of the car I could possibly check it out for you if you are serious about buying it.

I have seen the car before but am trying to figure out if its worth the money. The car needs a complete retoration to be a show quality car but may be a respectable driver with little effort.
