Hey Brad, how'd you pull off 535 hp with the stock 670 iron heads? I ask because I'm working on a 461 stroker 400, and going on the top end are a set of 670's and RPM manifold as well. What did the Kauffman guys do on the top end to get such impressive numbers? PM me, looking for similar numbers on the hot rod block I'm working on .

You might want to call Jeff for some advice, my invoice says 670 heads and "The Works" I don't have any specifics outside of "race porting" and the flow numbers at approx 270 intake and 225 exhaust. I have the dyno sheets so whatever they did they did it well. He is a real nice guy so I suspect he would be able to provide some information. The cost for the work was $1300 so something else you might want to compare if you plan on sending them out.

Brad

Default Intro and pics of my 67 goat!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone. My name is Philip and here's the story of my car and some pics.
I found it in a barn here in Oklahoma. It has 77,437 actual miles on it. It was a one family car until I purchased it. The original owner bought it new at Westward Pontiac in Phoenix,Az. and the car was in that area until he died about 12 years ago. Then his brother bought it from his sister-in-law. He brought it here were it got its first paint job. He put those goofy looking wheels on it. ( I already got some Rally II's to put on it!) It has very little rust in it. When I pulled off the left rear wheel I found the white paper axle code sticker still on the drum. I could hardly believe it.

(Originally it was Montego Cream with a black vinyl top) My plans are to change it back

Tony, what wheel and tire size is that you have, and what backspacing are they. I have been looking at several 67's and your sits and looks just like I want mine to.

Hog1340 Everyone told me I was crazy and why would I put a red pin stripe on my car and I tried to tell them and seeing yours makes me now know I am not crazy, that color and that stripe just draws attention.
I tried a 4 inch back space all around. Worked fine on the rear but the front rubbed. Changed to a 4.75 in the front. Worked great. Picture shows 4 inch in the front. 4.75 gives the wheels a little smaller look in the wheel well.

Good example of how good a car can look in a photo.
I have replaced the:
Trunk floor
Rear lower quarter patches
Inner trunk to quarter panel pieces
Rear tail panel
Front floor panels
New gas tank and fuel lines
Rear window to trunk lid panel
Patched to front fenders behind the rear wheels
Front lower windsheild gutter
and a few other misc body patches
now all the rust is gone!!!!!!!

almost ready to assemble and go to paint...

The wheels are 17x8 rear and 17x7 front.
I have a 4" offset in the rear and have committed the ultimate sin...
Minitubbed the outside rear wheel wells...Sorry, it just looks too good to me to go back to the 4 3/4" offset.
Besides, anything can be redone really.
