Peje

Yes the Hagman is really good, but in this one it would be nice to have a cast iron look.

So then I started on the gas tank, first a couple of stamps (I did find three total)

Checked or tested # 20

And then the metal stamp

I was actually thinking of replacing the gas tank, but after some good cleaning I belive that it is hope for the original one, it has to be painted but I want to see how it turns out, here it just got some more acid to take the last of the rust.

No bid received here for the cowl, so the part is no longer for sale.

Roar I asked you twice for a price as I told you the same amount of times that I really hate to give offers, you where selling the darn thing and should know how much you want for it.

Not replaying to my emails and then come here and say that it is not for sale is pretty arrogant and there is a long time since I found another solution, another member did also offer me the part and I will buy it from him if needed.

I got a pretty good idea of what kind of person you are so from now on it would be great if you did stick to your stuff and did stay away from what ever I am doing.

Have a Great day !

Default GM 486976 Muffler

Loffen
The inlet & outlet are both offset as you can see in the picture. And it's 21 1/2" long excluding the pipes. Same muffler L & R just rotate 180*.. "OLDBERG" manufactured it for GM. In 1981 I bought a complete new exhaust from Pontiac. This muffler was manufactured in Oct '73.

Roar, as a fellow Pontiacer I am saddened; you are better than this. I mean how many of you Pontiac guys are there is Norway? You should be best buds here.

Please give Loffen a price; this "what will you give me for it" routine is pretty lame. Say $50?

Great pictures and info, it really helps, do you also have the size of the inlet and outlet ?
I would guess 2,000" and 2.250"

Mark Thanks
But just forget about it, for my this is a hobby, for Roar this is bussines, nothing wrong in that but from another Norwegian forum and some friends I have a pretty good idea about this guy..
I really do not need it so let's leave it at that.

2.00" ID inlet and 2.25" ID outlet is correct.

Interesting that even the Ram Air and HO equipped cars used the same mufflers. Their 2.25" exhaust pipes were necked down to 2.00" OD to fit the muffler inlets!

Take the part with the original engine color to an automotive paint shop and see if they can use a color scan device to get the correct color.

Well,we can`t love everyone but it`s sad that is has to be bad feelings between members.
As Loffen stated, this is a HOBBY not a spacerace. We are having the same problem here in Sweden and I can tell you: They are NEVER gonna be "married" , more like cats and dogs on steroids.Anyway, keep up the good work Loffen and the rest out there.

I measured my muffler and confirmed what Lloyd said. I did want to add that both the exh & tailpipe slide inside the muffler pipes. The guy who replaced mine in '07 has the tailpipe going over the muffler.

OEMs nearly always had the exhaust pipes and tailpipes sliding INTO the muffler stub pipes.
