Default Scam just received a bill for McAfee service I didnt order.

Called them. They wanted me to go through their security dept. I said no you cancel it. Then I said I'm calling Attorney general of Pa. immediately hung up. I called state police they are forwarding info to Attorney general. I'm learning not to trust anything on line.

Fake invoices for antivirus software that you don't use are one of the most common scams these days, in my opinion. You aren't dealing with the actual software company, so calling them or returning the email won't do any good. I sometimes get five or ten of those kinds of emails in a day, the ones that don't go directly into my junk folder I simply delete.

YES!!!!!

Please remember these are all scams unless you see something on your credit card statement or God forbid a deduction from your bank account! Simply delete them & move on.

Sometimes finding out it is a scam is as easy as hovering your cursor over the name of the person who sent you the email. The real email address shows & most of the time it is NOT from the company they are claiming to be. Another thing is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER open any attachments included in these kinds of emails!!!!!!!

God Bless
Bill

As I have understood it, in many cases, even opening the email, pushes the sender's page that verifies your email is legit - the email looks for embedded image attachments which are not actually attached to the email;
And this in turn put your email on a list, for other illegitimate companies to send you more scam emails.

If it looks suspicious, don't open it.
You can instead look up the company, and call them direct (and not via a number in the email) to see if it's legit.

Similarly, if you receive a call that seems suspicious, don't trust it.

When in doubt, take a look at the sender's actual email address and don't open...just delete.

I'm learning if I did not inquire I'm not opening it I do not care. If I receive a letter from govt or lender I'll check it out but never give info. My thinking tell them you just gave money to the other caller.Even friend requests if I do not know you I do not get involved.

Those emails are just the bait. The scam happens when you contact them. I get these all the time I just delete them.
