Also put promo code in group box not promo box, makes a difference. Thanks for the Help Ted, now booked in at Red Lion.

The Banquet is not formal - after all, we are car guys. Not sure shorts and a T shirt is appropriate, but definitely the event is casual.

Any updates on counts for the convention and the Alaska cruise?

For the Saturday Snoqualmie car cruise, has there been any thought to any "ride-sharing" opportunities? Coordinating so that folks who are attending but don't have their cars could possibly ride with some of the folks who do have cars, if they're willing to "host" some out-of-towners?

We have just sold out of some of the nights at the Host Hotel, Bellevue Hilton. July 11 through July 13 (Monday thru Wed) are essentially gone. There are just 2 nights available for Tuesday, July 12. The Convention starts on Wed. July 13. There are still rooms available at the Host Hotel for July 14 through July 18 (Thursday thru Monday) at our Convention Rate. We blocked a number of rooms for Monday night for those who are going on the Alaska Cruise with us. There are still about a dozen rooms available for Monday night and about 25 - 30 rooms available for each of Thursday thru Sunday. There is still a lot of capacity at the overflow hotel - Bellevue Red Lion. The Red Lion is literally next door separated from the Hilton by a 10' wide landscape strip. As far as the Alaska Cruise there are 41 cabins booked to date. If you want to stay at the Host Hotel, get your reservations in for the few remaining days.

Longs,

Good idea on the Snoqualmie Falls Cruise. We will get some kind of sign up sheet going for those at the Convention without a car.

Default Drag Racing

We have heard many of you loud and clear - we are adding a drag racing event to the 2016 GTOAA Nationals. We are still working through the details, but it will be held on Friday afternoon/evening, July 15 at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA. Stay tuned!

There's a reason why the Ames Norwalk event is so wildly successful..... Most people have one vacation that they can use for racing and most owners choose to go to the ultimate Pontiac event.

The rest of the events have been and will remain regional and even regional events require herculean efforts to promote and run. If you have one even remotely in your area, please support them before they are gone as well.

Let's all be very thankful that we have such an amazing annual event that we can count on!
we had sponsorship from a great company heavily involved in the hobby...but when the representative flew all the way from California to Columbus, Ohio to see how his money was spent...there was no mention of his involvement...only that of Jim Wangers...as if he himself had funded the race, when in fact he was paid a fee and expenses for him and his crew to attend. Needless to say, no more sponsorship. GTOAA dropped the ball on that one. Just wanting to be fair here...I'll not say another word about it.

It's looking good for my GTO to be ready for the trip. Paint should be going on late next week.

I probably won't be making the races as they are the same time as the get together for Jim Wangers.

OMT, is that RH mirror you're adding to your car to see how far behind the guy in the other lane is at the track?

I'm so used to driving a car with a passenger side mirror that I found myself glancing over, not seeing a car, and changing lanes. I didn't see a car because I don't have a right side mirror. However, I can't find one that will work properly, so it will not be getting one.
