'63 Catalina project car that needs to be finished - what should I ask for it?
What price should I put on this car someone wants to buy it as is?
This is a solid car that I bought in ’07. It was a Doraville Georgia built two barrel automatic bench seat Marimba Red on bottom with a white top. I converted it to a tripower four speed car and switched the cam to an 068 GTO cam and put 15” steel wheels and poverty hubcaps and new springs both front and rear on it and then drove it that way for awhile. One picture shows it as it was in 2011. Then I decided to make a Super Duty tribute car out of it so in 2012 put it in a paint and body shop and we blew it apart. We took it down to bare metal and painted it Grenadier red PPG base coat clear coat. We Installed a new windshield, had the bumpers re-chromed, had all stainless restored and polished, and the aluminum beltline strips restored and re-anodized. I have NOS tail light bezels and rear tail panel potmetal strip and tips I got from Steve Ames. There was one small hole in the trunk and one in the passenger’s side front floor pan and both were fixed. I detailed the underside with the body on the frame and installed a new gas tank and four new brake drums. I had a new red headliner put in and have new SMS door panels for it. I acquired the necessary material from SMS and had the bench seat converted to buckets. A new Fabcraft 3:42 posi trophy track pumpkin is installed in the rear end. The car is running driving as is with the original 389 engine and 4 speed setup but has never been completely reassembled with the trim and bumpers installed and interior components installed. The picture of the car when it came home from the glass shop with the new windshield is the way it is now. I have someone who wants to buy it as is and am not sure what I should ask for it; what do you guys think? The two pictures below show how it looked before we blew it apart and how it looks now. |

From the photos, I would say high 20s to
low 30s. I’ve seen several ‘61-‘64 B bodies on Marketplace going for high teens to mid 20s that weren’t nearly as nice as yours.
