Would placing 15x7 wheels on a Judge have an effect on the spedo, and what would it show. Higher or lower than actual,

That all depends on what size tires you mount on those wheels.

heh-heh. There isn't a 15x7 tire size for cars. 275-60x15 means 275 mm, the side wall is 60% of the 275mm and of course the 15 is the inch rim it fits.

It's been years since I made this work, so I may be wrong but I think it's:
275 * .60 * 2 = 330mm

330mm/25.4 (conversion) = 12.99 inches

12.99" + 15" (wheel) = 27.99 in wheel

You can decrease the tire diameter by lowering the aspect ratio of 60 down to 50 (275-50x15 example) or go higher by getting a 65, 70, 75, etc.

I have 15x7's (235-60-15 front 245-60-15 rear) on my '70 and It seems the spedo is still pretty accurate.

easiest way is to find a tire with close to same hight as your stock tire, the taller the tire tire farther it will be off

a 245-60-15 wheel/tire combo is about an inch taller than a 245-60-14 wheel/tire combo.

Refer to poncho V8's tutorial. He is right on the money. I sold tires for 3 years. But the easiest way find out a tire with the same rolling diameter is either call one of the sales reps at the tire rack (1-888-541-1777)just tell them what tire and rim you have and what size rim you want to use and that you want to keep th esame rolling diameter and they will give you the tires with the same rolling diameter or go to their website, type it in and it will give all of the tire sizes that will have the same rolling diameter.
