My uncle just had a '69 judge restored and after driving it for a short time (couple months) heard a noise under the valve cover and discovered a broken rocker arm stud and a bent pushrod. What are the possible causes? I would appreciate any info. He's pretty bummed. Thanx.

The stock 3/8" rocker studs are notorious for breaking. So it is possible that the cause was a faulty stud. In general the pushrod won't get bent when a stud breaks but anything can happen. I'd put in 7/16" studs with polylocks, check cam timing as then set the lifter preload.
