Not really epic, just a rare and interesting car, Mallet converted 2005 CTS V.

My kind of car, Manual Trans, V8, fast and a sleeper. The $23,500 asking price seems reasonable to me for what you get. Even though I don't think any Mallet conversion other than the Corvette's will ever fetch the Price of other Tuner cars. My Solstice included.

Apart from the obvious, what's the big lump running lengthwise along the centre of the roof?

Looking at the ad I was thinking “WTF, that looks EXACTLY like my old neighborhood “. I looked at the map- sure enough! Never saw that car though

I think it's just a poorly done seam in the vinyl roof.

The car looks pretty clean, I wonder what he'd take for it without the wheels.

Hmmmm, maybe but I never thought anyone would put a seam down the centre of the roof. Guaranteed to leak and the rust bogey starts.

I think it's typical of an aftermarket vinyl roof.

You can look at it this way, there is only one seam to worry about and not two.

I believe that original vinyl tops on the '73 A-body cars had the seam down the middle.

Seam down the middle kind of makes sense. Less visible, high point of the roof, only one seam instead of two.
