40 years ago today....
My Dad and I went to the Pontiac dealer, and brought my T/A home!
Now just to get it back to better than new condition!

Forty years ago this evening (May 14) I took my high school crush to the Senior prom. It was a big step in life for me, first ever adolecent date.
She was a peach. It took me a couple weeks to get the courage up to ask her. I was over the moon when she accepted. The theme for our prom was 'The Times of Your Life' by Paul Anka. I meant to post this earlier in the day (Sunday) on the actual anniversary but it slipped my mind. |

According to the PHS documents, it's my GTO's 50th birthday. It was assembled at the Baltimore plant and scheduled for delivery to Union Park Pontiac in Wilmington, Delaware. Oddly enough, as far as I can tell, it spent all of its life in the Twin Cities before I bought it in 2004. I contacted the dealership -- now Buick GMC -- to see if they still had sales records from 1967, but no luck. Would be a perfect day for a birthday drive, but the engine is under construction! Maybe in June...

I was making big money at a Hercules Chemical plant. I made pentaerythritol tetranitrate 1100 pounds at a time.
