Default Sad News - Marc Neary

Long time GTO friend, enthusiast Marc Neary has passed. Marc never did much in any postings on this board but was well known all over the country and attended many national meets over the years. Well known for the cars and parts he accumulated. He is and will be missed here locally but am posting this for all the friends he made over the years.

Is that the short guy that was selling Pontiac stuff in North west? Sorry never got his name. Dealt with him a few times, also nice to deal with.
Gone too soon. May he rest in Peace and His Legend be carried on.

Thanks Bob. Hopefully somebody carries on his passion for the Industry. Very sad but as we get older this is the out come. He will be in my thoughts when we go out for a Cruise.
Met him at Monroe and Portland swap meets and at the Pontiac / GTO convention in Bellevue WA.

Marc was just a great guy. I live on the east coast and my wife’s family lives in the Portland area and I would drive out to his place to buy parts and talk Pontiac’s with him. I will miss him RIP.

Sorry to hear that Marc is gone. I always tried to Ponty -Yak with him at the swap meets but it was hard because everyone else did too. There are many parts on my Pontiacs that I got from him over the years. He always treated me fairly. He will be greatly missed by all whose trails he crossed.

Thanks Bob for passing this on. Marc's been part of tens of thousands of restorations over the last 40 plus years. He solved more problems than anyone will ever know.

Sorry to hear this. RIP Marc.

Why is it all of the good guys are leaving us and the idiots hang on forever?

I had a long drawn-out argument with one last Saturday at the Newark Elks Club show. He wanted to see my engine and I opened the hood, which I don't do too often, and the first thing he said was "What size?". So I told him and the next thing was.... "Ah, a big block!" And then it started..... I didn't win as he would not believe Pontiac never made a big block, no matter how many cubic inches they were. I bet Marc or Jim could and would have straightened him out....

GT182, for a minute I thought you were getting political with, Why is it all of the good guys are leaving us and the idiots hang on forever? The big block has always been an arguing point for the idiots.

Sad to hear Marc has passed.
When I was looking for parts , his name kept coming up.
He helped me with many substantial part finds.
Tripower, am/fm radio, power steering pulley &
Many other parts.
Always liked dealing with him .
Honest, reasonable. Very, very knowledgeable.
He even sold me something, after I ran out of money & told me to send the cash to him when I got home to Canada.
Very nice guy.
Found out through a connection in Australia.
about his demise.
World renowned.
He’ll be missed.
