Default 66 GP Rubber seals etc etc

Time to start buying the rubber for my entire car ... the resto is moving along ...

What company makes the best quality?

What company makes the weatherstripping etc etc that looks most like the original and performs and will last?

I've heard of Steele ... are they good? Does their stuff match original "look"?

All help is appreciated ... if I have to go to multiple sources I'll do that to.

Thanks

Steele has a good reputation. I personally like Metro (partly because they are local to me, so it's easy to get parts fast.) https://www.metrommp.com

Thanks for the input Stuart. How do you like their quality and originality? I'm really looking for a long lasting restoration so I assume this will the last time I replace all the rubber ...

I'll check out their site and prices ... thanks agin

Steele was the only one that had the scrapper seal for the outside rear quarter window for my 63 GP. i bought all my rubber from them for my 63 Bonneville.

Look for Cat Whiskers #970429 for belt weatherstrip kits. On page 26 of this 236 page pdf catalog from Restoration Specialties. PUI's stuff is P-U...it stinks.

I always buy Steele Rubber. Multiple 60's and 70's cars and never a problem, original look and feel (or as much as I can tell since I wasn't born when these were original). Other brands haven't held up well at all and I wasn't happy.

I used Cat Whisker for the fuzzies and Metro for the rubber seals, and was very happy with both.

I had to do minor trimming on the Cat Whiskers at one end of the pieces on the door.

Yes, this is a 7 year old thread being revived! I did window fuzzies on a 66 about 10 years ago. I sold the car soon after but now I have another one and I'm wondering if anyone has purchased a fuzzy kit for a 66 Grand Prix lately. If so, what did you buy and was it good?

Does anyone know what brand of weatherstrip you would be getting if you ordered from Ames?
