Just spoke to Harry. He's still with us!

He said he's retired and that's why his website is down ... but he's still selling stuff! He doesn't carry any 1966 material for seats because in 1966 they went with the hard shell backs on the buckets (not sure why that precluded him from stocking '66 material but it is what it is).

He offered to get Repro carpet for $250 per set plus shipping (I think I can do better)

He offered to get headliner precut and sewed with better stitching than original so no worried about splitting in the original NOS material ... with enough material to do the sail panels and visors (yes it was the same). That would be about $400 shipped. I noticed that Ames doesn't offer the '66 GP material in Dark Aqua/Turquoise ... sort of strange since they have seemingly every other color?

He said he could do the package trays as well (it is mesh for '66) and didn't give me a price ... he wandered.

My headliner is in excellent condition but I may want an extra NOS set IF it's really not available in repro. All the Ames repro headliners are $109 so when you think about shipping extra and extra material for the sail panels and visors $400 shipped doesn't sound outrageous for NOS material (it is a perforated material and shiny or with a sheen). But I'm going to call Ames Monday because they have Blue listed twice and maybe they forgot to list Dark Aqua?

He's a good guy and lives not far from me to boot!

Good to know Harry's still selling material.

Question: what's his contact number? I feel like I should scrape together the dough for vynil for my Safari.

Heres pics of my Bonnie Upholstery..
as an example of trying to uphostery match.
Saddle Bronze. used 63-64 only I think

The driver lower (worst) and a few of the
Rear upper ( best) to give you an idea of
what it should look like..

I hope no one took my talking of Harry as insulting.
I was just getting a price quote and we did talk for quite some
time. He was a nice guy and I learned a lot.. some of it disappointing
though

His price was very fair and I know the quality would have been
really good. I just couldnt do it at the time and hadn't followed
up since.

It's real good to see him still working..
John

Yes.. you can see it best in pics 2 and 4..
the outermost 'panels' of the seats are vinyl
thats why they are browned and faded from UV.

The leather is everything between.. cracked and
damaged on the bucket seat.. still shiny and metallic
looking on the rear upper..

Has anyone ever received door panels from SMS inside of a year or so? I know they do good work, but everyone on here seems to wait >2years. I recently emailed them a couple pictures and he sent back a picture of an exact match and said “order now for spring time delivery”. Which after all I have read seems laughable and is probably just them drumming up more business? Just curious. I know they do great work and I’m not really sure what else is out there other than local upholstery shops if you have a good one nearby.
