Default Color Choice

After 10+ years of wanting to have this done, my 67 is going into the shop in mid October for bodywork and a new paint job. I am still somewhat undecided of what color I want. My car was originally silverglaze with red interior. Sometime in the early 90s before I bought it in 98, the color was painted red.

I like originality and planned to change it back to the original silverglaze and discussed that with the shop. However, I certainly like the red and am worried that the silver will be have no "flash" and just blend in with the many other silver cars on the road.

I have a couple of weeks to decide.

I like the bright sparkly silver color, or black.

But, if you really want "flash", Judge orange or that wild, loud, yellow color that some seem to like nowadays, should make folks notice you.

Too many red cars out there already. The silver is a nice color but the red interior will make the car stand out. Add Rally I wheels with redline tires and you will have a stunning combination. Maybe even consider a red HO stripe.

All good suggestions but the color needs to go with the red interior. So I am limited to red, silver, black (nope), or white.
The interior has been all redone so not changing it.

I like rally Is also and just put a set with redlines on my 65 GTO. However, I have rally IIs on the Firebird and love them.

Take the time to look at the 1963 Catalina color "Fire Frost" silver, hands down the most stunning sliver I have ever laid my eyes on. Silver comes in many flavors and this by far will stop people in their tracks. In the sunlight is appears to have tiny flecks of chrome in the finish, it sparkles from every imaginable angle. It will be well worth your time to have them spray out a test card/panel and then view it in the sunlight. I am quite confident you will be pleased, with a red interior it will be over the top !

That is a fairly rare color on a bird- X2 what he said! I have a red bird, and wish it was that awesome teal color.

Here is a pic of my 67 with Silverglaze. It won a lot of trophies and got a lot of attention. With your red interior it would look good IMO.

Great ideas. The Rally I's look great on a 67 and makes the car different as most people ordered the Rally II's. This is the way I did mine, except mine had a black interior.

I had a 66 Chevelle painted silver - maroon two tone back in 1975.... The silver I used was Lincoln Moondust Silver.....what a color !...plenty of pop ,when the sun hit it. I know a lot of the shops in Derry and Manchester...good luck with your color

Silver on a first gen Firebird looks awesome. I would NOT change it.

I couldn't locate that color. I found a Silvermist Grey for that year.

I may be a little bias but I do like black with red interior.

The silver with red interior will look awesome.

Extra points for it being the car's original color.

Doug Hopkins just proved that silver looks great+original color=no brainer! It's your car & $$$$, though.

Fire Frost Silver was actually a Cadillac color I believe but Pontiac called it Fire Frost, it was used on 63 SD Catalina's. I will see if I can get the paint code for you and report back, it will be worth the wait, for silver it is stunning. If I were to paint a car silver there would be no other option.
