Dang it looks like I missed a cool dealer collectible from the correct dealer. Not sure when or where or how much it went for though

Larry , the Thomasville Pontiac dealer closed shop WAY before PMD closed doors.
Think maybe late 70's or early 80's.

But , I know the guy who has owned the place ever since it closed.
He is a pack rat classic car collector.
They left a lot of old stuff behind when they sold him the place.
Even the paintings and posters on the office walls , etc......

I could try to locate him , and see what he might have left with dealer name or logo.
Not seen him in years.

Amongst the treasure was an NOS 64 GTO Hood still in the box.
No one could believe it at the time
All the GTO guys I know in NC , including myself , about killed over when it became known .
Had been sitting there waiting for someone to come along and ask , for about 25 years.

First caller bought it for full asking price. $1500 (was actually too cheap even back then)
He had uncountable calls about it for months and months after that.

A guy in Raleigh NC , over on the Yenko website , had bought an early 70's Camaro he had known in his area since the late 70's or early 80's. He had old pictures of it wearing a Baldwin Motion or Yenko style paint job (i forgot which one) , but Zero Documentation.

He did the NC DMV title history like you did.
And turned out it sold New through a NC dealership , the statement of origin was from (Baldwin or Yenko. ...like I said , I don't remember which one it was) with pricing data and all.

Proved it was a legit HiPo HighDollar Conversion car from one of those fancy Chevy places up north.
Worth 10 metric tons of money now.
One of the most solidly documented cars of its kind for the year model.
Pretty wild deal , and incredible luck !

That's would fantastic, sorry for the months late reply. Have not been on here much. I would love something from there preferably a key chain fob or metal license plate frame or what ever. I found a tortoise shell style brush with that dealer on it on Ebay but its a bit odd of an item for me to want.

Awesome, Thank you

This is the car in its flat Walmart spray can trim.. Pic is from last night. Formerly Gold and from Perkins Pontiac Thomasville NC , I really think want to create a fake dealer race car paint scheme in patina of that dealer on the side.

You don't often see a full size Pontiac lifting the front wheels like that.

Wife and I were thinking about doing the same thing with our '61 that came from Perkins. We finally decided to do something different and do a Royal Bobcat style lettering on the quarters but have it say Royal Babbcat, Babb is our last name lol. Of course it may look stupid at which point we'll go back to the Perkins plan. Here's a pic when we were test fitting a NOS aluminum brake drum and NOS Fenton wheel.

Got in touch with the man this evening. He still owns the place.
It will be later next month before he is back at the place again,
and he's going to look and see what he might have left.

Told him what you guys were looking for.

Said the former secretary [also Perkins long time "side piece"] hauled out most of the knick-knack stuff and files and whatnot when it shut down.
Perkins passed away - and she has too.
Possibility her son "might" still have some of the knick-knack stuff with Perkins Logo.

Evidently was in business a long time.
He thinks the hairbrush was from late 40's to the 50's.
It closed in mid 80's

It was about a medium sized dealership for the time period it was built.
Brick & Mortar
Showroom, paved lot, multiple service bays.

That area of Thomasville has gotten slummy in past 20 years
Has been about 10 years since i was last there.

This guy was a native of the area and knew Perkins a long time.
Any history he can share - i will pass on.
Any knick-knacks , will put you guys straight in touch with him.

This guy also had a Nice unrestored 1960 4 door Bonne 389 TriPower with other options.
Will ask if he still has it also. Forgot to ask

He remembers the Fiero's were first coming out , as being the last of the new cars at Perkins - before it closed.
Told him they came out in 84 .

Will find out if it closed because Perkins passed away - or if he just retired and closed shop. By the mid 80's , the surrounding dealers in Greensboro , HighPoint, WinstonSalem could have swallowed Perkins place without belching.

This is the only piece of advertising we have from Perkins so far. Got it at the Charlotte Autofair this year. There is a gentleman and his wife that sell a lot of Pontiac dealership type stuff that lives near Thomasville and he comes up with local stuff. Anyway he knew old man Perkins before the place closed. He said after it closed he would try to buy pieces from him but the old man wouldn’t sell anything but if you came by when I think his grandson was there then you could occasionally buy a few things.

If any of you guys in the southeast ever come across any advertising (or even better a license plate frame) from Stephens Pontiac in Daytona Beach, let me know. I'm no relation but it is my last name, so it would be cool to have to go with my car.

The overhead shot looks right.
The other 2 , seem wrong.

Current owner used to always keep the paved lot PACKED with cars.
Somehow city made him scale way back 10-15 years ago.
