1962-1964 full size AT console.

I just bought a console that fits at least the 1962-1964 full sized Pontiacs. Not the 1963-4 GP. It came disassembled. There are 4 raised round pieces on the forward lower plastic piece and 4 slightly larger raised pieces on the bottom of the metal top piece. These 2 pieces look like they are to be joined at those points but I don't have any idea how. There are no threads and it does not look like there have ever been sheet metal screws in them. Anyone know how they are joined together? Pictures would be great.
