Peak 663 @ 6500 RPM - 663 @ 6750
4500 to 6500 avg = 595 HP.

Another metric 255 / 259 dur @ .050 valve lift.
----------------------------------------------------------------
For a few of the combinations I looked at duration @ .050 VALVE LIFT.

TMC cam 1 with 2.1 / 2.0 rockers = 269 / 271 dur @ .050 valve lift

Brian .465 lobe solid cam with 1.65 rockers .020 lash = 259 / 268 dur @ .050 valve lift.

-----------------------------
New combo.
HXL 2231 intake, HXX 12203 exhaust.
270 / 274 @ .050 cam duration
108 LSA - 105 IC.
1.7 rockers - .020 lash.

Top performance so far.
Peak 684 @ 6500 RPM.
Avg 4500 to 6500 = 612 HP.

Duration @ .050 valve lift is also the highest - 270 / 274 dur @ .050 valve lift.
Mike,
Thanks. Would have happened to run that sim high and maybe have 7000 and 7250 HP numbers?

Stan
For the HXL / HXX lobes with 1.7 ratio.

677 @ 6750
663 @ 7000
652 @ 7250

All runs have been using "large open header" but nothing more specific.
It has the power to tune for primary lengths, collector lengths and taper. Also stepped pipes.

Mike,
Sorry I must not have highlighted this one. I wanted to see how it hung on after peak.

I went back through my old emails, I remembered that incorrectly. Max rpm on that cam was 6500. Sorry for the confusion.

Pasty Chef since this thread is about wide ports on a stock block, just curious what your sim would say about a set of standard ports. Just pick one of the cam mentioned here. For the heads just use a standard 330cfm e-head. Maybe the wide ports will be down on power??

I can check that tomorrow. I'll use the flow curves posted by AG here.

Estimated CSA of the intake port?

Tested the smaller SD330 heads, used your .465 lobe shelf cam / same specs as before.

Avg 4500 to 6500 = 592 HP

655 @ 6500
651 @ 6750
639 @ 7000

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the 330 head, I asked it what events it wanted for best power 4500 to 6500 using .465 lobes.

1.65 rockers .020 lash

108 LSA / 105 IC

Intake lobe
12604 294 267 194 .465

Exhaust lobe
12305 305 277 203 .465

Avg 4500 to 6500 = 601

656 @ 6250
660 @ 6500
652 @ 6750
