What distributor numbers are considered correct for a 67 GTO with a “WT” 335 H.P. & manual transmission. I have a 1111253 with a 68 date code installed and would like to replace it with a correct unit. 1111250 is the primary number listed but the restoration guide lists 1111254, 1111253 1111183 as production alternatives. Are these numbers correct or are there other numbers not listed that are?

Thanks John, your site was the first place that I looked. It shows only 1111250 being correct. That’s why I was confused when the restoration guide showed 1111253, 1111254 & 1111183 as production alternatives. Trying to see if that’s correct and increase my chances for finding a reasonably priced distributor.

Here is a chart from Service Manual:





The '250' would be for the WT/WS engine.
The '183' I guess is an alternate, but doesn't have the high pressure distributor gear.

1111183 might have been more common than we realize. For the longest time, the GTOAA didn't even list it. At that time, I had an 08D built Fremont YS. There it was staring right back at me. It was also listed in the shop manual so I simply chalked it up as an error on the club's part. How many of them might have been replaced because of this?

Now I have a numbers match 09D Pontiac YZ, and wouldn't you know it, there's another 1183. This is why legitimate survivors are invaluable.

Info from Application Index Delco-Remy Equipment for 1967-68-69-70.

The correct distributor for 1967 GTO is #1111250. Also used on 428 H.O.
#1111253 was used on 1967 GTO 400 2 BBL High Comp. and 1967 Firebird/GP 400 High Comp. Also 1968 Pontiac 400 High Comp. M/T 2:nd production, and 1969 Pontiac 400 High Comp. A/T.
#1111183 was used on 1967 Pontiac 428 Std.
#1111254 was used on 1967 Pontiac 400 High Comp. w/air pump.
