Well, I think I figured it out. During the treatment at the body shop my core support was replaced and I believe it was not from a GP. It appears that the GP core had a cut out for the turn signal socket/ bulb access and my replacement does not.

I eventually found the small plastic covers that go in the corners where the fender bolts to the core support. I ended up cutting out a small area that is hidden by the plastic cover(s).

Similar cutouts for cornering lamps were made to the core support Another possibility is if the GP was originally sold in PA. State law required that parking lamps not be above headlights so those GP's used the standard parking lamps mounted in the valance.

Your GP looks GREAT!!! What are your plans for the car after your done? Hope you get to enjoy for a long while. Seems like when there that nice, they are hard to drive around them much. My '67 GP is a driver, but not near as nice as yours!. Keep those pictures coming.

Thanks for the comments. Once most of the bugs are worked out, hopefully this summer, I intend to ship the car to south FL where we live most of the year. It will be driven and maintained there.

The suspension was also upgraded to the full tubular a-arm front and rear plus the heavy duty stabilizer bars front and rear. I am anxious to drive it to see how it does.

love the triple black! gives the car a presence (for me) that the red didn't. of course, i own 5 black cars and my last 8 have been black - none of them outright intentionally. you gotta love a 'big' with a 428 and 4 speed!! nice, nice car.

Although still not done and running behind schedule, there was some progress made this summer. Here are a few recent pics.

My goal is to get it to Norwalk in 2018, finished or not.

Rear arm set is tied into frame and heavy (1 1/8?) sway bar. I believe it is a fairly new offering and can't wait to see how it handles. The car would leap sideways before in the rear when jamming the gears.

Dash his back in and mostly wired now. ATC wiring and vacuum was a bitch plus I added cruise, power locks, power vents, power drivers seat, and rally gauges.

Car came with AM/FM, 4 speed, reclining passenger, power windows, power antenna, headrests, tilt,

I am beginning to run out of parts to install and boy does that feel good.

Finally got it running and drive-able in late July. Was able to take it to Norwalk for the first outing. Still not done, in the shop now for a convert top, carpet, and interior panel finish. Runs great, loads of torque, and the handling with the Rare front and rear makes it fun to drive.
