Can anyone recommend an Automotive Shop / mechanic in or around Tuscaloosa near University of AL?

Old school and non franchise OK...someone you can vouch for or have experience with.

PM or Post, whatever you like....and Thanks!

I lived in Foley 1972-1978. Mothers side of my family from Chilton County area since before Alabama statehood. Raced at Atmore in the mid 70's. Resided in Ohio since 1978. Always owned Pontiacs.

Weather has to be better in Panama City. Been cool here. We go to Fort Myers, Florida in the winter, they have great weather there.

I met the guy that painted my car at a cruise-in in Opelika. Does that count?

Do they still have the cruise-in at the Home Depot parking lot? I think it is the second Saturday of the month?

48rat,
I grew up in Dadeville about 15mins from Opelika... hard to find indian owners around here in Calera. Most of the time working on my GTO by myself. If it wasn't for the pontiac man I would have had a time finding a machine shop to build my first motor. Seems everyone around me into big trucks and mustangs. Have to drive miles to find a decent machine shop as well... Not like when i was stationed in Panama City machine shops everywhere...

Hey Tony,
Nice to hear from you, I went to that show once a year or two ago, I would go but the weather doesn't look good for the next several days. My wife used to work in Robertsdale, been there several times, I know a guy in Foley with a blk/wht 56 Chevy 4dr ht. Do you get to any Pensacola shows? I have kind of cut back on shows to work on my projects, need to do a Mustang for my wife so high priority.

I did go to the Mustang show at Pcola Fairgrounds, it was smaller than last year, as I was leaving I saw a nice looking light green 66/67 GTO driving out, didn't see it walking around. I also try to get to the 9 Mile Rd Saturday night cruise in, as well as we have a 1st Friday and 3rd Friday cruise at Fusion/Pea Ridge strip mall and Milton Chevy on US 90.
