Default 74 GTO rear steer change question

Hi, I want to change my 74 GTO from rear steering to regular steering. What sub frame do I use to do this? Thanks Steve

I've never done this conversion personally, but the X body started using the front steer subframe in 1975. I believe it's very similar, if not the same as, the 70-81 F body cars. Subtle difference in the 12 year run of the F body cars, but basically they're very similar.

If you're looking for a stock bolt in swap, I would say 1975 and later X body. If you have fabrication skills the F body, 70 and later, could likely be made to work.

Beginning in 76, Cadillac Seville was also built on the X body architecture, could also be a source for the sub frame you're looking for.

Not that easy.

This is a 1969 Firebird subframe:

This is a 1970 Camaro - same as Firebird till 1975.

Significant differences. Why are you wishing to switch to front steer?

Put a rack and pinion in it, that will be front steer.

There is an outfit "Steeroids" that supposedly has a kit for 68-74 Nova, which by default includes Ventura / GTO in 1974.
