Flat hood laid on it. After its cleaned up he might be okay with sharing some pics. Still has the bigball 3spd shifter knob and open face alternator. AC, Radio, Console are the only options it appears to have had. (maybe soft-ray glass, and hopefully a posi rear) |

There is a great feature called "Ignore" on this site. Saves getting upset over posts and stuff.

No Tabs though. I helped a friend do this a few years ago. On a similar note; I remember sending and selling my 1970 and 71 Dual snorkel bases to a guy in Washington State ( Think he was a border hopper at Point Roberts) to have them converted to a Ram Air style base. His place was called TACH-REV I believe. I still have one of the conversions. But back to the question. Your idea should work fine with the ring and or tabs. WU3 bases ( air intakes) are NOT clocked the same as the other bases . They also use their own vent air tube. |

For what it's worth, I've seen enough dual snorkel air cleaners on late production RAIII 70 TAs to assume that at least some of them came that way from the factory. Mostly Norwood, but at least one low mileage original Van Nuys car in the mix, too. All produced in July of 70.

The entire 1970 Firebird line was strange. I've owned a lot of 70s and parted even more, and I can't think of any other year where there were so many rolling changes in a production car. There were 71 parts showing up on late 1970 cars, and late 1970 parts showing up on 1971s.
