Default 69 heater delete

I just picked up this heater delete plate this week. I’ve never seen one in all my life. Curious if anyone has a factory ordered 69 heater delete car. Just wanted to share this with the group

Very cool.

Maybe you can get some replicas made via 3D printing.

I am sure there would be some people that would want one.

I would be interested in one. I'm sure with a 3D printer as 65 mad goat mentioned they would be easy to make.
I've seen some amazing projects that those printers can do!

Heater/Defroster was mandatory in North America in 1969
But not on Exports

There is only 1 69 GTO (it's a Judge) known with Heater Delete.
It sold new in Aruba - iirc
Then it found its way to Sweden and Norway

We all had 'assumed' the block-off was molded in the dashpad by its appearance in the pics he posted.
And the owner in Norway never confirmed either way.
So your find is pretty monumental overall, and confirms it was a separate piece that installs into a standard dashpad. Which makes way more sense.

Heater Delete - Option #802 = $17.50 Credit

It would probably be worthwhile to repop it
I think they did a repop on the 69 non-radio/delete plate
The 2 together would be pretty neat.

Very interesting info. I never thought about it being mandatory/ safety equipment for North America, but makes sense. I’ve seen 64-66 cars with it. Maybe not a requirement a few years before. I would love to find a radio delete as well someday for GTO as well as 69 Grand Prix

67 or 68 was the last year you could get Heater Delete - North America.
Believe it was 67

I tried to re-post the pictures of the Aruba Judge dash and documentation -
but they are .bmp files and too large for attachment limit.

Will try to re-do them in .jpg later on and post them in this thread.

Heck of a place to have no heater.

Even the Caribbean is a lousy place not to have a heater, rainy day or night with a steamed up windshield, no fun!
