I helped my brother do some drivability tuning and experimenting on his dual quad hemi, and we found some interesting things. Based on those results, one thing I would be tempted to try with a cross ram, if possible, would be to run the carbs facing outward to the sides, and also with plenum dividers running the same direction. Looks like that would require a spacer/adapter. Makes me wish I had a cross ram to experiment with just for fun.

That was my back up plan for mine. Mine stay in check..but I do noticed higher rpms on the highway make the gauge creep up. The 308 gears help keep the rpms down.

Can you install an oil cooler without a remote filter setup?

Yes, I had a transdapt cooler adapter that sandwiched between the oil filter and mount with npt ports to run lines to the cooler and back. I used it for about a week but found the oil temps never got over 180 and so removed it.

Still have the whole deal in a box around here somewhere if anyone is interested.

I had a .060 over 455 with hard block up to the water pump holes. A low 12's car drove it on the street for years never had a cooling problem even in Arizona summers. I was running an aftermarket 4 row brass radiator called the desert cooler. I did not run an engine oil cooer they are in most cases a waste of time and money even for a drag car.

Been running hard block to bottom of freeze plugs for 20+ years and won’t build an engine any other way, turbo engine at 960 Hp been together for 11 years now without a spark plug change, ( even won high performance Pontiac magazine day at ETown w it) running 9.70s at 146 good regular street beatings, still going strong doesn’t over heat ever, 2 bolt mains, stock cast crank, iron 6x heads. Typically 11 psi had it s high as 17 on the street.
