This grill section is advertized as 1969 Lemans/GTO. IT does not look like my lemans grill, and it does not look like the 69 GTO grills they advertize repro, either. What is this?

Also, the 1969 GTO grills in the catalogs all look to be for hidden headlights, or is it that they use the same grills but that the fixed lights have separate bezels but still use the same grill?

I'm pretty sure it's a '68 LeMans grille. Not '69 and not GTO.
The GTO grilles for either year is like you say, separate headlight bezel so that hidden lights and fixed can be swapped out in the same grille.

it looks like its for either a 68 gto with the endura delete/chrome front bumper option, or a 68 lemans.

the 69 gto withOUT hidden headlights, used a two piece grille/headlight surround. i do not know if the lemans, in 69, used the same style.

in any case, those grilles will NOT fit any 68/69 gto with an endura bumper.

Those are definitely for an Endura delete chrome bumper, 68 only.

Okay, since I now know that the same grills are used on hidden or non-hidden headlights, I have another question. Does anyone make the headlight bezels for the fixed head lights? I have not seen them in the catalogues, unless I am blind.

I don't know if they are repo'd but I see them regularly in the for sale section and on eBay.

The seller has restated his ad headline. It now reads "69 Luxury leMans Grill". He still says it is for 1969 LeMans.

"I have seen 69 LeMans grills, I know them, I own some. These, sir, are no 69 LeMans grills!"

i looked at a 69 shop manual, and that grille is not from a 69 lemans UNLESS the lux lemans took a different style.

according the manual, the tempest grilles in 69 had an "L" shape where it came to the center of the bumper. The "L" part faced downward, towards the street. it also appears the 69s had a crosshatch pattern as opposed to the horizontal bars this ebay one has.

Looks like a moot point as no one is bidding on it. If anyone buys it for their '69, I hope he's ready to take it back.
