John, I read this version in Jim Wangers' book, "Glory Days." IIRC, He took part in the presentation that Hurst/Pontiac made to Pete Estes.

The Hurst Hustler stickers were indeed released early on. I believe that they were part of the package given to the members of the Hurst Hustler club beginning in 1965. One way to become a member of this club was to purchase a set of four Hurst wheels, fill out the warranty cards and sent them into Hurst. In addition to receiving a "Lifetime Warranty," you were also given an automatic membership into the Hurst Hustler Club. I believe that the Hurst Equipped die cast emblems were sold through the Hurst parts catalogs (I don't see this emblem listed in my '66 Hurst catalog, however) and in parts stores during the late '60s and early '70s. The Hurst Equipped emblem could have been purchased at the same time as the wheels.

That emblem does not have any ties to the wheels. trust me on this It was not made until the 70's. If Im wrong then so be it but I remember when they first started selling that emblem.
