68 / 69 GTO core suport
please help me identify my core support , i have a basket 69 GTO convert that i am putting back together , i have a core support in this basket of parts that i think is a 68 , how do you tell a 68 support from a 69? the core support i have does not have the raised lip edge on top that the plastic fan shroud would bolt to any ideas??

Positive Ident is made when you attach the plastic shroud.
you make it sound like you got a 68Core support. |

half inch.. i think i do have a 68 support for i do not see any place to attach the plastic shroud at the top , would you verify this..

i think there is a lip that extends out on the 69 core support that the shroud attaches to. the 68 has the metal cover that bolts to the top of the core support over the shroud. does sound like you have a 68 core support. if it where a 69 going in a 68 you could cut off the lip but the other way around iam not sure you can use in in your 69??? if you look in the ames catalog on page 156 they show a picture of the replacement core support and the 69 lip that needs to be cut off on a 68. (sorry py didnt see picture in your catalog)

Jeff, yes you are right , i went on to the internet and just looked for pics of 68 GTOs to find a pic of the metal fan shroud . the fan shroud is a large piece and is bolted down with 4 or 6 bolts on top of the core support. my core support has the 4 or 6 bolt holes as i see in the pics that i found and i do not have the 69 lip that the plastic fan shroud would bolt to . final answer... i have a very nice 68 core support. anyone inerested in it ??

Looking at old post and ran in to yours after I created thread. I have a 69 and had raised edge. Did you find your 69? Did you get rid of your 68 one. I will probably cut my lip off on mine to make it work
