Since it's a special-order color, I would think "alternate stripes" is somewhat of a misnomer since there was no designated stripe match for a special-order color. I realize pink stripes were available in 1971, but pink stripes wouldn't be a default choice for a special-order color.

Guys, I learned at the MCC 32 planning meeting this evening that this car will, sadly, not be displayed at the show. I don't know exactly why yet but imagine that there was not enough time to get it ready. I'm sure we'll see a story on this car soon enough. I'm not posting any further pictures so that the story can be told with interest by readers.

So, it'll be another GREAT outing to drive several miles to. Lucky Paul has something I want (and probably forget). Pictures always do a car "justice". And an article always answers questions I ask it.

I'm not involved with the car but have chatted with the owner over email.

Received text from owner last night, including pictures of car in current state and a quick movie of car idling. It's looks amazing! Car can be seen in November at MCACN in Chicago. I would love to post pictures, but as 'ol Pinion head says, Its not fair to post here as it's not my car and I don't have permission. You'll all see it soon enough, I imagine.

I wish there was more hype on this car.

My opinion is Mcacn is the last place to hype a Pontiac.

This is a great place for the story and pix...

The purpose of the class, if not show, is not to hype a brand.

And, in fact, it's the most popular class at the show.

Yes, that class does attract a lot of buyers. If that's the intent.

To show a car. I think the forum is a better place to show and share...

That's not the intent as of a few months ago, but word-of-mouth is a powerful thing.

Someone reached out to the owner and convinced him to bring it to the Barn Finds class. It seems appropriate that's the place for the vehicle considering all the other classes are filled with pristine vehicles.

Roger, you should go.....you'll crap your pants when you see how cool it is. Craig can vouch for me.
